Exploring our new neighbourhood

Wandering through Bandra westNow that we have moved into our new apartment its time for me to explore the neighbourhood. The Lady in the beautiful orange Kurta kept stepping into my photos, so I left her in the blog post as it shows you some of the vibrancy and busyness of Mumbai’s streets.

First I went for a little walk to “Natures Basket” on Hill Road which is the equivalent of Sainsbury’s in the UK or Cold Storage in Singapore.  A reasonably high end supermarket where you can find most international brands and a range of fresh produce as well.  You can also shop online and have groceries delivered, for this service you either have o pay with an India bank card or pay cash on delivery.  Its not possible to pay with an international card.

I also had a little walk up to Pali Hill where there are all sorts of little stores selling everything from electronics to Tupperware boxes, there’s also market stalls selling fresh fruits and vegetables.

I popped into Pet Story, to get supplies for our furry friend.  Pet story is quite small but they do stock lots of the international pet food and accessories brands (Royal Canin, Sheeba etc).  They also deliver, which is really helpful.

I also found a nice plant store so ordered some herbs and flowering plants for my balcony.

Overall, quite a productive morning!

Tomorrow actually happened eventually!

We have moved into our new apartment.  Mr R and I joke that its gone to “someones plan” just not ours! It seems in India that everything will happen tomorrow.

Anyway after persistent conversations with all the various “wala’s” aka shopkeepers and “electricians” i.e someones something that occasionally carries a screwdriver we are into our apartment and touch wood most things are now working.  YIPEE
